I don’t usually do that, but I have painted this same exact scene twice. I painted it for the first time quite a few years ago and I was curious to compare how I would paint it now. It came out quite differently and I have to admit I was pleased to see my progress. I just love the atmosphere and the narrative of this scene, the dark rocks and cliffs, the choppy waves endlessly running towards the shore with a splashing and swishing noise. It’s like a conversation between the sea and the girl looking at the waves and into the distance.
I love this little beach that is hiding between rugged cliffs like a little jewel, it doesn’t feature in any local guides, you won’t find it unless you go exploring and you have to clamber over some large rocks to get to it. Not the easiest place to get to carrying an easel! It’s like a little world of it’s own where time can stop.
If you would like to buy this painting it’s available in my store, or if you would rather like to deal with me personally you can contact me. It is of course possible to just come and have a look – no obligation to buy! In the end, art should be there to be seen!
